Float Care was born from a personal design challenge. While watching his mother rest uncomfortably in her wheelchair, Doug could not stop himself from thinking: how can I design this better?
Our solution, Floatcare is a state-of-the-art modular position and support system that customizes every patient’s wheelchair, Geri chair, chair or bed. It is designed for use with needs relating to the care, comfort and cushioning of patients.
modular positioning pillow system
The modular pillow system has a universal fastening system incorporating functional components such as cushioning for sides and backer boards offering more support. Its flexible design means that caregivers can add components as needed.
Improving patient care.
Float Care’s use of responsive, soft engineered materials helps to reduce pressure sores, protect against skin tears, and stabilizes and corrects posture.
Adding support where it’s needed.
Each of Float Care’s cushions can inflate to meet patient comfort. If a patient needs more support, Float Care’s flexible design allows caregivers to add additional cushioning for wheelchair sides and backer boards.
Injuries happen from adaptive equipment
People’s bodies change.
People get weaker and can no longer hold themselves up.
People develop atrophy from prolonged sitting and pull themselves out of seats.
People develop skin tears from contact with hard surfaces.
People develop pressure sores with thin skin, poor circulation, no movement and no cushioning.
Dynamic air technology
Float works by refocusing air to relieve areas and support other areas. It addresses the individual’s unique anatomy and positioning needs with DYNAMIC Air Technology.
Each air cushion provides barrier support ensuring patient safety by preventing them from slipping out of position.
